Ferrari wreck
Screech!
Rubber burns
I see the driver
Speed-drunk
adrenaline
blazing
through
black
eyes
The
car
is a
beauty
black,
a feline demon
The Ferrari logo
Blazes on her bonnet
The engine roars
Defiant to the end.
A cab jumps out
of the blue
of a junction
'tween Lotus and Main;
a tiny white cab
And in it, a passenger
weary
from her toil.
Office
has
taken
its toll.
The black Ferrari rears;
Its great rubbers screech.
There is a crash,
A shockwave
A churning of worlds.
And when the metal stops
I see the driver.
Blood trickles
over black dead eyes
Above the screams, the engine roars
defiant to the very end.

To live
If I could
Number the days when I looked up at the sky
And asked it why;
If I could
Count the pain gathering dust in my heart
And give one for Death's handcart;
If I could
See heaven and hell
And how Lucifer fell;
If I could
Break the bonds that hold me
And cast them out to sea -
Why, then I can say:
"I have lived".
Number the days when I looked up at the sky
And asked it why;
If I could
Count the pain gathering dust in my heart
And give one for Death's handcart;
If I could
See heaven and hell
And how Lucifer fell;
If I could
Break the bonds that hold me
And cast them out to sea -
Why, then I can say:
"I have lived".
