Ferrari wreck

Ferrari wreck
Screech!
Rubber burns
I see the driver
Speed-drunk
adrenaline
blazing
through
black
eyes
The
car
is a
beauty
black,
a feline demon
The Ferrari logo
Blazes on her bonnet
The engine roars
Defiant to the end.
A cab jumps out
of the blue
of a junction
'tween Lotus and Main;
a tiny white cab
And in it, a passenger
weary
from her toil.
Office
has
taken
its toll.
The black Ferrari rears;
Its great rubbers screech.
There is a crash,
A shockwave
A churning of worlds.
And when the metal stops
I see the driver.
Blood trickles
over black dead eyes
Above the screams, the engine roars
defiant to the very end.
